10 Cool & Clever Easter Basket Ideas

Spring has officially sprung and if you have been shopping recently, it might feel like you’ve been transported to fluffy bunny central. Whether you’re popping open some Peeps® or dying pastel eggs, Easter is upon us and baskets full of plastic grass and goodies are all the rage.

If you’re like me, I like to keep the Easter basket tradition alive. But when you have a sister in New York and a (somewhat) healthy husband — both who don’t consume a lot of sugar — it’s safe to say an oversized chocolate rabbit and egg shaped bubble gum cartons (a personal favorite!) aren’t going to make the cut.

It’s taken a few years to get the Easter basket fillers on point, but I finally feel like I’ve nailed it. Instead of candy that will stay hidden in the pantry for months, I’ve found 10 more meaningful, cute, clever (and fun) items that will make any adult Easter basket a winner, no matter where that special some-bunny lives!

Theo Chocolate – If you are going give candy, make it the good stuff that makes the world a better place! Theo’s chocolate is made from Fair Trade Certified cocoa beans + organic cocoa beans and offers silky smooth texture that will have your Easter sweetheart craving more. I like Theo because not only is it decadent and delicious, they offer creative flavor pairings that enhance rather than overpower the chocolate.

Movie Tickets – This is not a revolutionary idea, but with all the awesome movies out on the big screen and on the horizon, it’s an excuse for that someone to actually take time out, grab some popcorn and watch a blockbuster before it gets to RedBox.

Capri Blue “Volcano” Jar Candle – An Anthropologie staple, this is the gift that keeps giving. With an infectious smell and a newer iridescent jar that is the perfect for Spring, no one could possibly be unhappy with one of these scent-sational gifts.

Himalayan Salt Lamp – A little bigger than your traditional Easter basket goodie, these lamps not only look super cool but are said to offer health benefits, like purifying the air and improving mood. And who doesn’t like a lamp that will keep you calm?

Critter Ring Holder – If you want to get something bunny-like into your sister’s basket who loves jewelry (wait, that’s mine), this ring holder is a super cute statement piece. Sleek and modern, it’s tall ears can display keepsakes without taking up too much room.

Mini Buddha Board – Add a little Zen to your basket with this environmentally friendly gift. Message and artwork can be painted on with water and as it slowly evaporates, there will be a clean slate for continued use. From inspirational quotes to cartoons, who doesn’t like a positive way to express themselves?

Contigo® Purity Glass Water Bottle – Stay glassy when it comes to creating your Easter basket. Featuring sleek colors and a cool design, this water bottle is perfect for those looking for a completely plastic-free container. And who doesn’t get egg-cited for a new water bottle, right?

Bunch Of Carrots – These aren’t the kind of carrots you want to feed the Easter Bunny. Think soothing, soft bath bubbles! Lush’s line of handmade, 100% vegetarian cosmetics offers an awesome Easter collection featuring the cutest (and best quality) body items. Not only do these cruelty-free carrots look cool, they do your bath body good.

Whish Body Oil – This little bottle of magic will make any Easter basket complete. Offering long-lasting moisture, wrinkle reducing agents and eco-friendly packing (did we mention they come in pastel colors perfect for Easter?!), this body oil is free of harmful dyes and chemicals and will leave that some-bunny special with super soft skin.

Stance socks – Creative, uncommon and just plain awesome, these high quality socks are perfect any occasion (and any basket!). From the MLB Opening Day to Beauty and the Beast, Stance’s numerous collections have something for everyone!
